Great shows at the end of 2010: Bureau Mauric had booths at both Euronaval and Maritima boat shows
The grand stand at Euronaval was organized around two themes. First, a large "box" with 3D vision featured the work in progress on the VR4D program. This 3D vision experience allowed our visitors to explore a boat both from outside and inside. Great success for what is today in the video games, or movies field, but will be tomorrow a common technique in professional work.
Another attraction was the large model we presented as an innovative concept of OPV. This Drone Carrier Offshore Patrol Vessel (DC OPV) is 70 m long , 28 m wide, with 700m2 of flight deck. It is able to simultaneously implement a drone and a 5 tons class helicopter. A large hangar is able to house a helicopter and a fleet of drones. Her seakeeping surpasses that of comparable monohulls and catamarans .This concept perfectly meets the current operational requirements: control the widest possible sea area with one ship. That is at the best cost/efficiency ratio
Our stand at Maritima was shared with the consortium COCHISE and exhibited the logos of our partners in the work group COCHISE on tomorrow fishing vessels. They gave a good example of what is the concept of an all-electric ship, with electric winches, electric reels and electric propulsion. The energy source is a set of generators, fuel cells, and batteries. A computer continuously adapts the power produced to the power required. Another theme, the versatile multihull dedicated to various fishing techniques except trawling.
The rest of the booth featured the model of the future "André Malraux" for DRASSM- the national maritime archeology department- and the classic activities of Bureau Mauric. We will return soon on this big project in more details.
We also put special emphasis on our involvement in service vessels to wind farms. We are currently building at Socarenam, a catamaran for the survey of windfarms for a british customer. We have also various other projects for windfarms in France and elsewhere
