As a European leader in decarbonizing maritime transport and services, MAURIC has developed extensive expertise in designing alternative-fueled vessels. We believe that achieving maritime decarbonization and meeting IMO FIT55 objectives set by the European Commission requires a combination of available technologies. Therefore, MAURIC continuously invests in developing innovative Zero or Low Emission vessels using alternative fuels such as hydrogen, methanol, and ammonia.

MAURIC has honed its expertise in integrating alternative-fuel propulsion systems, including combustion engines, fuel cells, fuel tanks, and cryogenic technologies. This knowledge stems from our participation in collaborative Research and Development projects and Joint Industry Projects. We are well-versed in international rules and regulations applicable to these innovative vessels.

Our capability in hydrogen-fueled vessel design is exemplified by ALBA, the first professional ship approved by French Authorities (Affaires Maritimes) to navigate with zero emissions using onboard hydrogen. Equipped with two 70kW fuel cells, ALBA can operate for 10 hours at 10 knots as a fishing training vessel.

Whether your project involves coastal zero-emission vessels or transoceanic cargo ships, MAURIC offers tailor-made solutions for decarbonization of your operations. We adapt our designs to the operational ecosystem, proposing the optimal choice of alternative fuel energy and propulsion system from LNG, CNG, hydrogen, methanol, or ammoniac.
