MAURIC entered the Tug Boat market by designing some small harbour Tug Boats for the French Navy. In addition to their ship assistance missions, they can reach the requirements of owners, for crew transfer, firefighting operations and coastal and harbour surveillance. They are dedicated to Harbour operators, tug and workboat companies.
MAURIC Towboats are designed to be reliable, safe and efficient tools for harbour and ship-assistance operations. Their general arrangement and their equipment’s selection are also defined for easy maintenance and operation with a limited crew. In France, MAURIC 10m – 6T design has been selected by the “French Navy” for ship assistance and naval base logistics in several of the French Naval Base in the World. 7 vessels will be delivered to the French Navy in the next 5 years. These references are proving the quality of MAURIC Tug boats designs.

MAURIC Tugs have been designed and built in Steel with two shaft lines propulsion configurations for reliability and cost efficiency. Other propulsion configuration with azimuthal thrusters or Voith-Schneider propellers can be proposed. Our Tug Boats are equipped with large fenders, in order to protect their hull from the damage due to the frequent bumps against large and steel vessels. On the basis of its sea-proven designs, MAURIC proposes also customized solutions with various type of speed, propulsion arrangement, engines and superstructure arrangements.
Our main design objective is the safety of crew onboard. Thus, special attention is paid to Tug stability and ergonomics of deck arrangement. MAURIC also attaches a great importance to the bollard pull optimization of its Push Tug Designs for power limitation and operational and acquisition costs minimisation. Particularly in this vessel’s range, MAURIC is also always searching for more efficient and innovative solutions such as hybrid propulsion, with the goal to provide eco-friendly and maximum efficiency designs to the Owners.
